Released in 2004, MAGS (also known as Magplanet and Crazy Bones: Magnetic Series) is a series of Crazy Bones where the characters all share a cylindrical shape and have magnets on the top and bottom of each figure. There are 42 different Mags figures to collect which are split across several categories known as Tribes.

History[]

These characters were originally released in Spain and Germany as their own original line of figures that were unrelated to Gogo's and were simply knowns as MAGS. In Sweden, MAGS were released under the name "Magplanet" and featured painted figures. According to the packaging seen on the original MAGS packaging (before the Gogo's rebrand), they were a collaboration between Magic Box Int. and a company named Trendus.

Due to the success that Magic Box was having with Gogo's at the time, MAGS were released in the UK and rebranded in hopes of better sales. While the characters are still unpainted blobs, heads, and monsters like the classic Crazy Bones, the style of these figures is notably different, going for a more detailed look. The artwork on the packaging shows a number of these characters redrawn in the classic Crazy Bones art style.
