Angiru is the 8th Gogo in Series 1, and ( number needed ) in Superstar. He is known as Aneg in Urban Toys. His evolution is Angor.

Appearance

Angiru has two grey buttons for his eyes, as well as a wide smile. He also has a yellow 'a' symbol for his stomach. For his "Most Wanted" appearance, he seems to have a circular design around him, consisting of red, yellow and green colours. He also appears to have white eyes rather than grey.

Personality

Mega Metropolis

Angiru is shown to be quite secretive (shown in Issue 2 where he refuses to tell Jelly about Neko's favourite game). It is also implied that he believes in the supernatural as shown in Issue 1. He is shown to be friends with Umu and Mosh, with the latter introducing the Mega Gogos to the other Gogos alongside him. In many different issues, Angiru would sometimes appear in his Most Wanted form with no exclaimation given.

Trivia

  • On his sticker, Angiru's "a" symbol has a slightly different design.
  • On some Series 1 packets, there was a white variation of Angiru. This can imply that he was going to be available in another colour scheme.
  • He is the first Gogo in the checklist to have a wanted form.
  • The red version of Angiru is considered a "secret rare," as it was produced less than the other four colors. This color of Angiru was produced less because the Most Wanted version used the same base color.
  • Angiru appears to be based on a button-eyed doll.
  • Angiru's name may come from angirũ which is known to mean "friend" in Paraguayan Spanish (taken from the Guaraní language).
  • Considering the fact that Magic Box Int. was/is a Spain-based company, a designer may have had knowledge of such a niche cultural quirk.
